Renormal-order improvement of the Schwinger mass

چکیده
The massive Schwinger model may be analysed by a perturbation expansion in the fermion mass. However, the results of this mass perturbation theory are sensible only for sufficiently small fermion mass. By performing a renormal-ordering, we arrive at a chiral perturbation expansion where the expansion parameter remains small even for large fermion mass. We use this renormal-ordered chiral perturbation theory for a computation of the Schwinger mass and compare our results with lattice computations. ∗)email address: [email protected], [email protected]

Improved vector and scalar masses in the massive Schwinger model
The lowest (" vector ") and next-lowest (" scalar ") bound-state masses of the massive Schwinger model have been determined recently to a very high accuracy numerically on the lattice. Therefore, improved results for these bound-state masses from analytical calculations are of some interest. Here, we provide such improved results by employing both standard and renormal-ordered (fermion) mass pe...
متن کاملHydrostatic Pressure of the O ( N ) φ 4 Theory in the Large N Limit
We present a self-contained calculation of the hydrostatic pressure in λφ 4 theory with O(N) internal symmetry. In the large N limit the pressure can be expressed in a resummed form. Our calculations are based on composite-operator renormal-ization. As a byproduct, the renormalized (or improved) energy-momentum tensor is obtained. The Dyson-Schwinger equations are used to discuss both the mass ...
متن کاملNucleon mass and pion loops : Renormalization †
Using Dyson–Schwinger equations, the nucleon propagator is analyzed nonperturbatively in a field–theoretical model for the pion–nucleon interaction. Infinities are circumvented by using pion–nucleon form factors which define the physical scale. It is shown that the correct, finite, on–shell nucleon renormalization is important for the value of the mass–shift and the propagator. For physically a...
